Abstract
This study aims to identify the level of
psychological adjustment among students in graduating classes, as psychological
adjustment represents an important factor affecting students’ ability to cope with academic demands, final examinations, and
pressures associated with their academic and professional future. Psychological
adjustment reflects an individual's ability to achieve harmony with oneself and
the surrounding environment, satisfy psychological and social needs in a
balanced manner, cope effectively with stressful situations, and maintain
emotional stability. Investigating psychological adjustment among students in
graduating classes is particularly important because this educational stage is
often characterized by increased academic demands, family and social
expectations, fear of failure, examination anxiety, and continuous concern
about future educational and career opportunities. The study seeks to determine
the general level of psychological adjustment among students and identify
possible differences according to selected demographic and academic variables
specified in the research procedures. The study adopts the descriptive method
because of its suitability for the nature and objectives of the research. A
sample of students in graduating classes will be selected, and a psychological
adjustment scale with appropriate psychometric properties of validity and
reliability will be administered. The collected data will then be analyzed
using appropriate statistical methods. The findings are expected to provide a
scientific understanding of the psychological adjustment of this student
population and identify areas requiring psychological and educational support.
Furthermore, the results may assist educational institutions, school
counselors, and specialists in developing counseling programs that strengthen
students’ ability to cope with academic pressures, improve psychological and
social balance, and create a more supportive educational environment during the
critical final stage of schooling.
