الملخص
تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى الترجمة والتحقق من الخصائص السيكومترية لمقياس اليأس (Hopelessness Scale HI-5)، من إعداد Wang et al., (2023) كمقياس لليأس، على عينة عيادية من البالغين السعوديين؛ كذلك الكشف عن مستويات اليأس في العينة البالغ عددها (ن= ١٠٩). وأظهرت النتائج دلالات مرتفعة من صدق المقياس، حيث أكدت نتائج التحليل العاملي التوكيدي أن جميع مفردات المقياس ذات تشبع مرتفع، إذ بلغت قيم تشبعات العوامل بين (0.42 و0.83(، وأن النموذج ذو العامل الواحد جاء بمستوى مرتفع من المطابقة (CFI= 0.97) و (RMSEA=0.043) كذلك أظهرت النتائج ثبات ألفا كرونباخ حيث تمتع المقياس الكلي بثبات عالٍ، وذلك بقيمة ((α = 0.860 كما كشفت الدراسة عن مستويات يأس منخفضة لدى عينة الدراسة.

Abstract
The current study aims to translate and investigate the psychometric properties of Hopelessness Scale-5 as a brief scale to measure the hopelessness that was developed by Wang et al., (2023) among a clinical sample of Saudi adults. The study was also aimed to detect the levels of hopelessness in the clinical sample of the Saudi adults (n=109). Results showed high indications of the scale’s validity; the confirmatory factor analysis confirmed that all items on the scale have a high loading which is ranged between (0.83-0.42), and the value of (CFI = 0.97) and (RMSEA=0.043). The one-factor model was the most suitable model, and Cronbach's alpha reliability results also showed high reliability, with a value of (α = 0.86) The study also revealed relatively low levels of hopelessness in the study sample.
